Karnataka ke Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ne yeh bhi announce kiya ki 19 km Yellow Line (RV Road-Bommasandra) aur 3 km Green Line extension (Nagasandra-Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre) April 2024 tak open ho jaayenge. Unhone aage ki metro expansion ke liye plans bhi bataye, jaise 21.26 km Pink Line (Kalena Agrahara-Nagawara), March 2025 mein open hogi, aur 58 km Blue Line (Central Silk Board-KR Pura-Hebbal-Kempegowda International Airport), 2026 mein open hogi. Siddaramaiah ne Union government se request ki ki woh do additional Phase-III corridors, 45 km ke, approve kar dein. Modi ne Delhi ke expanding metro network se comparison kiya aur Bengaluru aur Mysuru mein metro ke expansion ko highlight kiya. Lekin Karnataka government ke officials ne confirm kiya ki Mysuru Metro ke liye detailed project report abhi tak prepare nahi kiya gaya hai, aur unka focus abhi Bengaluru par hi hai. 2021 mein operational hone wale Yellow Line ke launch mein delay, rolling stock shortage ki wajah se aaya tha.
