Rs 181 crore. The software identifies vibrations caused by elephant movement, alerts locomotive pilots, control room personnel, and station masters, and can distinguish between elephants, other animals, and humans. This initiative comes in response to 45 elephant deaths due to train accidents in the past three years. The Minister also confirmed that railway services have resumed and surpassed pre-pandemic levels, with 10,754 trains operating daily, exceeding the pre-pandemic number of 10,186 trains. Additionally, the railway network has expanded with 5,243 km of new tracks added last year and a target of 5,500-6,000 km for this year.
