Plans afoot to have Light Rail Transit (LRT) in Hubballi Dharwad

Dharwad district in-charge Santosh Lad is considering implementing a Light Rail Transit (LRT) between Hubballi and Dharwad. This project...

aims to ease traffic congestion in the twin cities. Although the existing BRTS service takes 25-30 minutes, the LRT is expected to take 55-60 minutes for the same route. The LRT is designed to cater to the growing population of Hubballi Dharwad and is a hybrid system combining Tram and Rapid Transit features. It will have a 3-coach capacity, carrying 250 passengers at a time. The LRT is planned to complement the existing BRTS system and utilize the existing space within the HDBRTS corridor. The twin cities are expected to experience significant growth in the next 10-20 years, and the LRT project is seen as a strategic step towards ensuring future transportation needs are met. The HDBRTS currently serves 80,000 to 100,000 passengers daily, and the addition of LRT will further cater to the increasing population.

Dharwad district ke in-charge Santosh Lad Hubballi aur Dharwad ke beech Light Rail Transit (LRT) lagaane pe soch rahe hain. Ye ambitious project abhi feasibility discussion stage mein hai aur 2-3 mahino mein decision aa jaayega. Agar yeh project banta hai, toh Hubballi Dharwad India ka pehla city hoga jahan Light...

Rail Transit service shuru hogi. Yeh project twin cities mein traffic congestion kam karne ke liye banaya ja raha hai. Current mein, limited-stop BRTS buses (100D) 25-30 minutes mein distance cover karte hain, lekin LRT ko Hubballi aur Dharwad ke beech 55-60 minutes lagne ki ummeed hai. Light Rail Transit (LRT) ek Urban Transportation System hai jismein Tram aur Rapid Transit systems ka mix hai. Yeh Hubballi Dharwad ki increasing population ko service dega. Rolling stock (train) traditional Tram ki tarah hai, lekin yeh zyada capacity aur speed pe chalti hai. Isme se 3-coach LRT ek baar mein 250 logon ko le jaayega. Minister Santosh Lad ne kaha hai ki LRT implement hone ke baad BRTS band nahi hoga. Iske liye rail movement ke liye ek small ramp ki zarurat hai, aur HDBRTS corridor mein available space ka use kiya jaayega. Hubballi Dharwad next 10-20 saal mein kaafi growth karne wala hai, aur LRT jaise new transit systems implement karne se twin cities future ki requirements ke liye ready ho jaayenge. HDBRTS jo ki twin cities Hubballi Dharwad ko service deta hai, mein har din average 80,000 se 1,00,000 passengers aate hain. LRT ke aane se aane wale saalon mein increasing population ko service mil payegi.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
