The railway's junior engineer stated that an FIR will be filed against KPTL for their negligence. The incident happened around 8:30 am when the MEMU train from Kanpur was approaching platform number 3. The train was given a signal to proceed to the platform without checking for any obstructions. The loco pilot noticed the wooden blocks when he was nearing the station and was able to prevent a derailment by applying emergency brakes. The station staff removed the wooden blocks after the incident.
