The tree, felled by a contractor near Kalander Kheda, fell on the track, severing the OHE wires. The incident was reported by the gateman to the Kanakha station master. A team of railway personnel, including senior divisional engineers, reached the site and removed the tree, repaired the OHE wires, and restored the track by 4:30 PM. The Lucknow-Raebareli intercity train was the first to depart after track restoration. The Bachrawan RPF in-charge filed a case against the contractor at the Nigohan police station. Nine trains, including the Arunachal AC Superfast, Nauchdi Express, Awadh Assam Express, Anand Vihar Muzaffarpur Garibrath, Farakka Express, Gorakhpur Express, Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express, Muzaffarpur Special, and Patna Special were delayed due to the incident. Villagers believe that a major accident could have occurred if the tree had fallen while a train was passing by.
