The delay occurred because the train's coaches were brought to platform number one from the coaching yard at 1:25 PM, but a signal failure in the yard occurred at 1:30 PM. To rectify the situation, the station master dispatched an assistant station master to bring an engine from the RT line, located 1.25 kilometers away, to connect with the Rajdhani Express. This incident is not unusual for Bilaspur, as the railway yard, which spans 13-14 lines, has a history of signal failures caused by technical malfunctions in the route relay cabin.

horn mara aur guard ko green flag dikha kar dopahar 2.24 baje train ko start kiya. Iske bare mein bataya gaya ki dopahar 1.25 baje coaching yard se Rajdhani Express ki rack ko ek number platform pe lakar khadi kiya gaya. Uske theek baad 1.30 baje yard ka signal fail ho gaya. Iske baad station master ne assistant station master ko station se 1.25 kilometers door RT line ke pass bhejkara engine ko piloting karke lakar Rajdhani ki rack mein jod diya gaya. Bilaspur railway ka yard bahut bada hai. Ismein up aur down line sahit 13 se 14 lines hain jin par trains ka chalane ka kaam hota hai. Signal fail ka mamla route relay cabin se tha. Waha par technical gadbadi ki wajah se aisa hua tha. Halanki Bilaspur ke liye yeh naya nahin hai.
