will run on a separate timetable. The new train will travel from Patna to Dumka via Kiul, Abhaypur, Jamalpur, SultanGanj, Bhagalpur, and Barhet. The timetable for the Dhanbad-Patna section of the Ganga-Damodar Express will remain unchanged. Both the Ganga-Damodar Express and the new Patna-Dumka train will operate under different train numbers. This decision has disappointed many passengers traveling to Bihar, who had been advocating for the extension of the Ganga-Damodar Express to Ara for a long time. The railway justifies the decision by stating that the Ganga-Damodar Express, after arriving in Patna from Dhanbad in the morning, remains idle for 17 hours and 15 minutes. During this time, the train will be used for the new Patna-Dumka service.

Is faisle se Bihar jaane wale passengers bahut disappoint hue hain, kyunki woh bahut time se Ganga-Damodar Express ko Ara tak extend karne ki demand kar rahe the. Railway ka kehna hai ki Dhanbad se subah Patna pahunchne ke baad Ganga-Damodar Express 17 ghante 15 minute tak Patna mein khari rehti hai. Is time mein yeh Patna se Dumka tak ki service karegi.
