Indian railways implements Kavach 4.0: A major leap in train safety and efficiency

Indian Railways successfully implemented the indigenously developed Kavach 4.0 Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system on the 108-kilometer track between Sawai Madhopur and Kota, part of the West Central Railway. This upgraded version of Kavach is the first to be operational in India, making the route the safest in the country. Kavach...

4.0 prevents accidents by automatically applying brakes in case of potential head-on, rear-end, or side collisions. It also eliminates Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD) incidents by automatically stopping trains at red signals. The system further ensures speed control, monitors driver performance, and provides in-cab signaling for improved visibility in foggy conditions. The implementation of Kavach 4.0 on this section involved installing 130 towers, over 1,200 kilometers of optical fiber cables, and numerous other infrastructure components. With this successful implementation, Indian Railways plans to extend Kavach 4.0 to more routes across the country, aiming to modernize rail safety and improve operational efficiency.

Indian Railways ne Sawai Madhopur aur Kota ke beech 108 kilometer track par, West Central Railway ka hissa, desh mein banaya gaya Kavach 4.0 Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system successfully implement kar diya hai. Is upgraded version of Kavach ko India mein pehli baar operational kiya gaya hai, aur iske saath...

hi yeh route India ka sabse safe route ban gaya hai. Kavach 4.0 trains ke aapas mein head-on, rear-end ya side collision hone se bachane ke liye automatically brakes lagaata hai. Yeh Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD) incidents ko bhi khatam karta hai, kyunki yeh red signals par trains ko automatically rok leta hai. System speed control bhi karta hai, driver ki performance monitor karta hai, aur foggy conditions mein visibility improve karne ke liye in-cab signaling provide karta hai. Is section par Kavach 4.0 ko implement karne ke liye 130 towers, 1,200 kilometer se zyada optical fiber cables aur bahut saare infrastructure components install kiye gaye. Is successful implementation ke saath hi, Indian Railways ka plan hai ki woh Kavach 4.0 ko desh ke aur routes par extend kare, jisse rail safety modernize ho sake aur operational efficiency improve ho sake.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
