CMRL constructs new storm water drain in Adyar, removes blockage

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has built a new storm water drain (SWD) in the second avenue of Indira Nagar, Adyar to prevent flooding during the northeast monsoon. The blockage has been removed, and the new SWD will be connected soon. CMRL is stopping work for two months due to the monsoon. However, residents are concerned that the Metro Rail construction has caused traffic disruptions and flooding in other areas, such as the Youth Hostel. Residents are requesting CMRL to reroute buses to the Gandhi Nagar bus stand to avoid inconvenience.

25 September ko flooding ho gaya tha. Ab blockage remove kar diya gaya hai, aur new SWD ko jaldi hi connect kar diya jaayega. Monsoon ke wajah se CMRL 2 mahine ke liye kaam rok raha hai. Par, residents ko yeh chinta hai ki Metro Rail construction ki wajah se traffic mein disruption aa raha hai aur Youth Hostel jaise aur areas mein bhi flooding ho raha hai. Residents CMRL se request kar rahe hain ki buses ko Gandhi Nagar bus stand pe reroute kiya jaaye, taki inconvenience na ho.
