136. The contract stipulates that the cost per tree will be Rs. 41,000. This initiative comes after MMRCL faced criticism for having to cut down trees for the construction of the 'Metro 3' line. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation's Tree Authority had permitted the felling of 3,772 trees for the project, while MMRCL claims to have actually cut down only 3,093 trees and saved 679 trees. MMRCL asserts that it is undertaking this tree plantation project in adherence to the undertaking submitted to the High Court. The tree plantation will be carried out in three phases: initially, nurturing trees in nurseries, then transplanting them to the station areas, and finally, providing three years of maintenance. The contractor is also obligated to replace any dead trees with new ones. The three contracts for this project amount to Rs. 12 crore 1 lakh 66 thousand 136, resulting in a cost of Rs. 41,000 per tree.

har tree ke liye Rs. 41,000 kharch aayega. Yeh initiative MMRCL ko 'Metro 3' line ke construction ke liye trees cut karne ke liye criticism ka saamna karne ke baad aaya hai. Mumbai Municipal Corporation ke Tree Authority ne project ke liye 3,772 trees cut karne ki permission di thi, lekin MMRCL ka kehna hai ki unhone sirf 3,093 trees cut kiye aur 679 trees bach gaye. MMRCL ka kehna hai ki woh High Court mein submit kiya gaya undertaking ko follow karte hue yeh tree plantation project kar rahe hain. Tree plantation teen phases mein kiya jayega: pehle nurseries mein trees ko palna, fir unhe station areas mein transplant karna, aur aakhir mein, teen saal tak unki maintenance karna. Contractor ka yeh bhi zimmedari hai ki woh kisi bhi murda tree ki jagah nayi tree lagaaye. Is project ke liye teen contracts diye gaye hain jinki total cost Rs. 12 crore 1 lakh 66 thousand 136 hai, jisse har tree ke liye Rs. 41,000 ka kharch aata hai.
