He was apprehended by RPF personnel at Tatanagar and handed over to the Tatanagar Railway Police after questioning at the RPF post. A case of creating fake documents and fraud was registered at the railway police station based on the RPF constable's statement. During questioning, it was revealed that he hails from Saufia Chandani in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. He was produced in the Chakradharpur Divisional Railway Court and remanded to jail. Further investigation by the RPF revealed that he had previously been apprehended in Kanpur for posing as a fake officer and was later released after paying a fine. The RPF and GRP will now contact his district police station to obtain information about his criminal record.
