stated that a Vande Bharat service would start on this route in December 2023 or early 2024, considering the high demand. The arrival follows the announcement of Vande Bharat tri-weekly special trains in the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil corridor. There was a prior instance where a Vande Bharat rake brought to Kochuveli was redeployed to the Mysuru-Chennai route. The significant demand for Vande Bharat services in Kerala, with occupancy exceeding 150%, has been attributed to the slow average speeds of express trains passing through the state due to frequent stops, curves, inadequate platform capacity, and a 69-km single track portion in the Ernakulam-Ambalapuzha corridor.

me koi official announcement nahi aaya hai, lekin Railways ne pehle bata diya tha ki December 2023 ya 2024 ki shuruaat me is route par Vande Bharat service shuru ho jaayegi, kyunki is route par bahut demand hai. Yeh announcement Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil corridor me Vande Bharat ki tri-weekly special trains ke announcement ke baad aaya hai. Pehle bhi ek Vande Bharat rake Kochuveli laya gaya tha, lekin usse Mysuru-Chennai route par operate karne ke liye le jaaya gaya. Kerala me Vande Bharat services ki demand bahut zyada hai, 150% se zyada occupancy ke saath, yeh demand isliye hai kyunki state se guzarne wali express trains ki average speed kam hai, kyunki unko bahut baar rukna padta hai, curves aate hain, platform ki capacity kam hai, aur Ernakulam-Ambalapuzha corridor me 69-km ka single track portion bhi hai.
