Pandey, ran and pulled the man to safety. While the man survived, he sustained injuries to his leg and hand. He explained that he was a resident of the city and was traveling to Howrah with his family. He had a seat in the sleeper bogie of the Mithila express. His family members managed to board the train in the crowd, but he couldn't. He attempted to board when the crowd cleared near the bogie, but he lost his balance and dragged along the platform.

Adhed ne bataya ki woh shahar ka hi rehne wala hai. Apne parivar ke saath Howrah ja raha tha. Mithila ki sleeper bogi mein seat thi. Bheed mein parivar ke dusre log chadh gaye. Woh nahin chadh saka. Train khulne par bogi ke paas se bheed chhanti to woh daud kar chadhne ka prayas kar raha tha. Is dauran woh platform par ghisatne laga.
