Presenting some pictures of Dhanbad Junction, the break-point of my journey from Ranchi to Howrah .
I was witness to a relatively busy period at DHN. When I went into the station premises, 12175 had just arrived was put into platform 2, a couple of minutes later Maurya barged into platform 6, 5 minutes later 12323 was brought into platform number 3. After Chambal departed 12323 and Maurya were controlled for 20-25 minutes and subjected to freight overtake in either direction. After 11447 arrived and was further controlled at DHN for 40 mins, even ASN controlled it for 20 mins where departed in parallel with an Utkrist rake Vanachal express. I will try to elaborate on these minute points in my...
more... travelogue which I hopefully pen down by this weekend.....

Picture 1-3 :- Some outside shots of DHN with the Tri-ranga fluttering in the night sky.
Picture 4 :- 12323 with customary link HWH WAP-4 on platform number 3. There were two MUed WAP-7s behind 12175 on the loop line between platforms 2 & 3, probably on transit somewhere, I was unable to capture them.
Picture 5 :- 13303/4 DHN-RNC intercity express placed on the loop line between platform 5 and platform 6.
Picture 6-8 :- Some night shots of platform 6 & 7, the newer station complex is slowly building up patronage.
Picture 9 :- HTE-GKP Maurya express departing from platform number 5.
Picture 10 :- DLW made HOG capable GMO WAP-7 37098 idling on the end-side of platform number 7
Picture 11-12 :- LHBfied Coalfield express parked on platform 4 ready to be shunted by a GMO WAP-7 while it's regular HWH WAP-7 was straightaway sent into the ETS. It is fantastic to see DHN station swarming with WAP-7s again, it is a nice throwaway to the early 2000s when only GMO & GZB had P7s and GMO WAP-7s were pretty much used from shunting empty rakes to drawing freights....
