Is Kolkata - Agartala Passenger service via Bangladesh is required ??
( 495 km instead of 1532 km from kolkata & only 417 Km after Completion of Padma Bridge )

Bhai Azaadi k 69 yrs k baad bhi hum Bihar mein se ek Non Stop train nahi doura paye aapko lagta h Bangladesh mein NS train douregi???
That's what I'm saying. IR should lay a totally separate track for this connection.
Very tough in practice. Assuming such a service can be run, it has to run non-stop in Bangladesh territory and the coaches need to be fully closed with heavy RPF presence to make sure nobody gets in or out. This runs in contradiction to the concept of a normal passenger service.Maybe a fully reserved train/AC train might work[kind of Delhi-Atari]. European countries have much easier diplomatic procedures and inter-country rail lines exist; though that situation isn't currently possible in Asia.
Customs & immigration will done at both of the border like the Kolkata - Agartala Bus service .
