Do i need to give a special description of the famous Loco Shed?
Alright, a small brief one.
Started way back in 1982's, held a few Electric Locos, which were mainly for the Dandakarnya Region aka the Kottavalasa - Kirandul Section, to haul the freight, as the Diesels were causing bit problematic to the crew.
Back in 1987's-88's, ASEA based Locos, WAG-6's...
more... enters the Indian soil, and in the same 1988, ASEA mergees with Brown Boveri, and finally comes to be known as ASEA Brown Boveri.
I don;t need to tell much more about WAG-6's, just FYI, these are the India;s first 6290 Hp Locos, which came back just after a month i was born, yes, u heard, it tat was in December 88.
Later it started to home Indian WAG-5's, fit with Hitachi Motors, some with local modification and finally WAM-4's, the major backbone to Indian Passenger trains.
Back in 2012-13's, it finally started homing the WAP-4's, and it was needed, as the legends were in their last days.
So similarly, the powerful WAG-6's are going to see their grand kids WAG-9 joining the family soon.
So, tat;s all folks, a short description abt none other than Visakhapatnam Electric Locomotive Shed.
P.S:- WAG-6 haven't seen their other Adtranz Kid WAP-5 til date.
